Ethel Schoeffner Elementary School in Luling is a 3rd-through-5th-grade school with an A rating from the Louisiana Department of Education for 2014-15. The visual and performing arts are areas of excellence at this St. Charles Parish school. Fundamental academic electives supplement a comprehensive curriculum with topics such as art, band, drama, physical education and computer applications, which are offered to students in every grade. Additional educational activities include an annual fourth-grade science experiment — in which teams of students inflate balloons with gas emitted by an antacid tablet — as well as spelling bees and a young authors contest, giving students multiple opportunities to apply the lessons they learn in the classroom.

Ethel Schoeffner Elementary School nurtures individual interests by providing clubs and extracurricular activities outside of school as well as chorus and 4-H. Yearly campus events include a 5th-grade picnic, the Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser, a talent show and a social studies fair.
