View All Outdoors

Renowned for its varied landscape, the 1,786-acre Bogue Chitto State Park lies along the Bogue Chitto River and features streams, an upland forest, a hardwood forest and cypress-tupelo swamps.

Visitors use the boardwalk to explore Fricke’s Cave, a gorge-like formation with delicate two-foot tall sandstone spires. The park also has seven miles of nature trails and 14 miles of equestrian trails.

The Bogue Chitto River is a popular destination for paddling and tubing. The park rents out canoes and kayaks and offers a convenient shuttle upstream for paddling and tubing. With a water playground, 11 stocked lakes, a river and picnic areas, families find plenty to do at this park. Visitors can also stay overnight in one of the campgrounds or furnished, air-conditioned cabins.
