Voodoo Music + Arts Experience

An Abundance of Art at the Covington Three Rivers Art Festival

View All Events

Covington, a suburban community on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, features a historic downtown with several established galleries and art spaces. Local and national artists travel to Covington each November during the Three Rivers Art Festival to exhibit their talents. Since the festival is juried and only artists with the highest scores are invited, the artwork is of the highest quality. More than 200 artists set up individual tents to display their works to the tens of thousands of art lovers who meander through the downtown area during the festival weekend.

Attendance at the festival has grown substantially, and in 2015, an estimated 50,000 artists, vendors, tourists and locals experienced the artwork on display.

Festival organizers look to present a range of art, and categories include:

  • Jewelry
  • Metalwork
  • Mixed media
  • Painting
  • Photography
  • Pottery
  • Textiles
  • Woodwork

During the Three Rivers Art Festival, selected artists demonstrate and explain their techniques on the Arts Alive! stage. A music tent features a schedule of musicians playing jazz, folk, blues and acoustic rock. At the Children’s Discovery Area, children visit various stations where they can create their own art, often using everyday objects. In addition, a stage in this section offers a full lineup of child-oriented musicians, storytellers and dancers.
